Wild Week
Last week as SSS we’ve had a wild ride. Chris had a cold at the tail end of last week resulting in a few rescheduling’s. Thankfully the symptoms didn’t last long and he’s back at it this week, but as you know we just can’t be too careful right now. I myself have started getting allergies with all this warm weather lately. I’m sure some of you are with me here, when the snow starts melting my nose starts running! And I must say.. Why are allergy meds so expensive, if you have any tips let me know!
As far as everyone else, Loren has been out of the shop in the first few days last week dealing with some personal paperwork fiascos, but she is back taking bookings and walk-ins again now. Roxie is still recovering. If you didn’t get a chance to see the facebook post she has been out since the shut down with some (non-covid) medical concerns. The shop doesn’t feel the same without her so we are just as eager as you to hear when her doctor gives her the ok to return to work. Bryan is as always working on little projects around the shop to finesse every little nook and cranny. He is always on the lookout for things to improve and corners to perfect in addition to regular tattooing.
We had a good start to the week with a tattooed pinup girl holding a snake that’s wrapped around her. Chris tattooed this piece as a half back piece and it is stunning! It’s not too often that we get someone wanting a big back piece so it was exciting for everyone; and definitely a needed pick me up last week. Bryan has also been putting out some impressive Japanese dragon tattoos. We love to see this diversity of ideas you guys are coming to us with!
Wednesday morning we came to work to find that the SSS sign to the left of our door had been vandalized overnight. The sign had been twisted with the bottom of the sharp S’s pointed upwards being extremely hazardous. Thankfully we have a stellar security system and we’re in the process of investigating the vandalism. With the sharp ends we are also grateful that because this was overnight no one was in the shop to get harmed. With the angle of the spikes bent upwards someone walking out the door could have gotten a nasty poke.
In other, happy news, we have recently started a project to get some new business cards out. I myself am particularly excited because I’ve never had a business card before. It comes with a lot of responsibility to help all of you get the bookings you’d like as well as the duties around the shop. It’s going to be cool for me to see my card alongside the rest of the shop’s as part of the team. We are all drawing our own cards and that includes me, even though I’m not a professional artist like the rest of the crew I do quite a bit of hobby art and I’m excited to show my style on the card as well! Not to mention it will make it easier at the post office when they don’t believe I’m picking up packages on behalf of the shop.
Hopefully you had a good week too, there are always ups and downs but we are more or less happily moving along.
